HEAT THERAPY APPLICATION

MICROWAVE

-Before using the gel pack make sure to even out the gel in the pack at room temperature. Due to the impression line design sometimes the gel is not uniform in all areas. Lightly push down on the pack to fill some of the compartments by kneading and breaking the gel up before use.

-Place gel pack on a microwaveable safe container. Most paper towels will also work.

Heat pack for 30 seconds and time is based on an 600-800 watt microwave. Add an additional 15 seconds if the microwave is a low watt 600-800 watt unit. DO NOT EXCEED A TOTAL OF 45 SECONDS.

-If the watts on your microwave is greater than 800 watts then do starting intervals of 15 seconds in order to gauge the strength of the microwave. The greater the wattage the less time the gel pack will need to heat up. Remove pack from microwave and check for desired temperature. If pack is not hot enough then place it back in the microwave for 15-second intervals. DO NOT EXCEED A TOTAL OF 45 SECONDS.

-Overheating could cause skin burns or gel pack to rupture.

-Place gel pack in the specially designed sleeve in the back of every XT BRACE. Treat area for 15-20 minutes or as advised by a medical professional.

-When microwaving a gel pack make sure the pack is at room temperature. DO NOT PUT A GEL PACK THAT IS FROZEN DIRECTLY INTO A MICROWAVE. This could potentially cause issues with the gel pack rupturing.

STOVETOP

Bring pan of water to boil and make sure there is enough water to cover the size of gel pack.

Remove pan from heated stovetop and submerge water for 5-10 minutes.

-Remove pack from water with kitchen tongs and wipe dry. Place gel pack in the specially designed sleeve in the back of every XT BRACE.

-Treat area for 15-20 minutes or as advised by a medical professional.
